leegreen 2,182
Ah then it would probably be ok. I thought you might want to grow something and it would have been a nightmare trying to control the goats feeding. Obsolete means no longer needed.
COMPO 54
i grew up on a farm, we had a few goats, we reared calfs and had a few sheep as well. when we left the farm my brother rented what some would call an allotment, however it was much bigger than a council allotment and several other rented the land up there and kept small amounts of livestock my brother had pigs, chickens, and a goat. the amount of damage a goat can do and how hard they are to keep in you seriously wouldn't believe. The ones who are trying to tell you not to get a goat are speaking from experience, we all learn from our mistakes....but really wise people learn from other peoples mistakes............my brother lost a goat when he tethered her....she tangled herself up and strangled herself! My only advice would be if your going to get a goat get it a few months before Ramadan....the price of goats goes up at Ramadan and when you are fed up of catching the fecking goat, have run out of grazing and have upset all the neighbours....you should be able to turn a profit to some muslim looking for a goat the week before Ramadan

Malt 379
iv been told by nearly every person with an allotment to get a goat or 2 to keep it the allotment down and tidy now im on THL and i got people telling me to do different and the goat will die when none of my mates have yet, ditch i wont just give up on the allotment because its got aload of overgrowth i dont give up that easily, the allotment will be used for a haveing a couple of chickens in and all that part where the chickens will be is sorted, BUT the shed for the chickens is only a quick nock up for a min till we can get a goat to clear out the parts with the overgrowth because theyre alot more level than where they are now, we asked DO YOU KNOW FOR ANY GOATS FOR SALE LOCALLY NOT HOW TO LOOK AFTER A GOAT feck sake we just want to buy a goat to keep the allotment down why do alot of people on here have a problem with it? i havent seen 1 topic on here yet without a silly comment or silly comments JUST A GOAT WERE LOOKING FOR AGAIN NOT HOW TO LOOK AFTER 1 IF [NO TEXT TALK] HAS FORGOT OR MISS READ Not being funny, but if EVERYONE with an allotment that you know is telling you to get a goat, WTF are you doing asking for one on a hunting site on the internet? Surely if you know so many people in the know, they'd be able to sort you a goat out?

agrifabs 0
god, theres some bitching on here...!! if you think that you really need a goat then go and get one, we bought ours from the freeads i thibk she was about £50 about 10 years ago, id watch the tethering thing if i was you, i mentioned before what happened to our goat - it wasnt nice. but on the other hand, you wont be the first or last person to tether a goat, if your alotment is that big, do you know anyone with a small compact tractor with a flail mower? it would all be done in an hour. where abouts are you in south wales?
