DESPERATELY NEED A GOAT

Recommended Posts

Guest Ditch_Shitter

 The Only bit of advice you two are really ready to listen to is that which agrees with what ye've already decided, isn't it?

Go find ye goat then. I hope ye find it soon. Then, within a week of ye getting the thing, we'll still be able to remember this Thread.

I wonder if ye'll be men enough then to come back here and tell us all what happened?

Hire a Brush Cutter. Or, if ye bothered by a few scratches and stings to ye hands? Give up the idea of an allotment altogether.

thanks for your advice moxy.. we will keep it in mind.... about time someone was genuing on here...

thank you

thanks moxy, iv got a few spare lurcher collars on here would it be ok to put 1 of them on the goat keep it loose enough? then tie it with a chain?

The thing you will find with lurcher collars is the buckle, make sure its strong!!

We always used to use horse collars, ( Modifyd ).

As to rope it depends on the goat some will chew it to ribbons others dont bother, but this is also due to what foodstuffs are on offer. They will eat almost anything but only the good stuff first.

Best to be belt and braces especially in an allotment.

I know that i wouldnt want to be explaining to my neighbour where his prize cabbages and marrows have gone LOL.

Have a swivel both ends of the tether, and yes chain not rope.

If you think you need a goat for an alotment just to keep the weeds and brambles down. And you not taking advice then you must know it all. Why don't you get one from your wide knowledge of goats or do you want one for the pot or maybe your dog :icon_eek:

right lads you need a holding number for having a goat contact defra 1st they will tell you exactly what to do to obtain a one as if you dont and you get found out for having one by them you will be in serious trouble as you need to keep records of every movement you make of agricultural livestock since the foot and mouth ............so my advise would be get a holding number 1st before you even think about getting the goat or you will end up in court lads good luck dep

I eat goats, all of my dogs are stock broken and I am man who is very knowledgable about goats you dont "desperatly need" a goat for vegatation control in an alotment, so easy with the insults and take the advise that you asked for.

good luck.
