kent scotty 0
i doubt it would do much as a lurcher but would make the dane alot healthier!!! lovely looking dogs but sadly ruined now. scotty Edited May 26, 2008 by kent scotty Quote Link to post
DiStuRBeD 0
my sister has 3 danes, they eat like a horse and shit like a bull one is scared of his own shadow, the other 2 one you cant trust and the other is not that trustworthy around strangers either none would be any good at hunting, seem to have lots of health issues too they use them here but as x'd dogs, my roodog pup most likely has dane way back in his makeup, they used them for reasons known to them... to add size/height and possibly nose Quote Link to post

Bosun11 537
The Great Dane as we see it today, in the show ring, would/could bring 'NOTHING' to the working lurcher and I'm sure even less to the hunting field! I'm sure someone, somewhere in the world has an unchanged, old time specimen that could possibly hunt but for our fair shore's it still nigh on useless. All that said, those two off 'The Swiss Family Robinson' (the one with John Mills) did look great to me as a kid Quote Link to post

Killed by a group of baboons....Now that ain't the way for a good dog to go.... BUT, just wondering i hope it was a Great Dane bitch used for that mating, or that grew would have suffered a worse fate than it's unfortunate offspring!! Quote Link to post
Attack Fell Terrier 864
Great Dane used for graft! What Poppycock! Quote Link to post

poacher3161 1,766
the onley thing this breed can do is turn good dog food into shit. Quote Link to post
dirtwinger 235
Forget about them mate, blokes do use them here, as a cross, the only thing they add is size, which is neutralised because they are heartless, straight up mate they are useless. Not completley useless my Vietnamese mate says there's good eating on one of them things! All the best Dirtwinger Quote Link to post
Cold Ethyl 63
I doubt it far too big and although game enough theyre not built for running and turning to quick hence the reason theyre prone to spinal problems and hip issues etc.I had a huge gd for years who i called Tiny(i was drunk when i named the dog)Had him out once and never again lol.Theyre just not built for hunting. They are [big] very Dangerous feckers, i read they can kill a leopard. I thought a pit , but i think it would killed straight away , they use there hands to grab+hold, and they have massive fangs. Even when hounds bay them, the hunters have get there very quick, and [shoot] the feckers a [very Dangreous Animal] Quote Link to post
