thanks shephound...

1 more question why is it my new hob which i rescued last week does not bite my hand but if i have shorts on he will bite my legg, not an aggressive bite where he holds on its more of an exploring bite but it still bldy hurts,,

lol

I reckon, its the salt, we all sweat salt, but its more than likely rubbed off on your hands, legs/arms etc it aint, try adding a salt block to there cage/hutch, see if it makes a difference

once the breeding season's out of the way, they should all get on fine, if there's a warren full of rabbits, fighting between themselves would be the last thing on their minds

as for colour prefrence;

one of my best workers, vixen is a silver, so thats my first choice, next is a dunno colour, her daughter, minky, is just that, looks like a mink, very dark, but without the polecat mask,

Is it true that albinos have impaired eyesight and hearing?

The eyes of the albino are no different from any other ferret, they just haven't any colour pigment. However the ear canal is different (a quirk of the albino gene) which could result in hearing that is not so good as polecat coloured (for example). Taking it one stage further are silvers, black-eyed-whites and ferrets displaying symptoms of Waardenburg Syndrome which could (not always) be born deaf; again this is a result of the mutated gene.

As for colour preference I'm not bothered either way, although it is easier to tell 4 polecats apart than it is 4 albinos!
