Puppy Litters & Rescue Lurchers

Hi Everyone,

At the end of the day, there are hundreds of lurchers needing our help. Whether we like it or not.

Just last thursday a small 2 month old pup was saved from my local river. After someone tried drowning it.

The poor pup had lost all its hair from mange and was very underweight.

Its the lucky one. I fear that its litter mates may have not made it.

Anyways, I cant see anything wrong with this lucher puppy. If I had the space I would take him.

I think it may be a rough coated medium sized lurcher.

I will try to get a photo up of him.

 

'Maya' is what we are calling him. He is very smart. Already he will give his paw and go to bed on command.

if a dog / bitch is no use wots the point of given your shite to others? (to much of those types are sold at shows ) if a dog / bitch cant perform why keep it? ye can feed a bad one as ye can a good one i know witch i would rither in my kennels , as four keeping those that fail to proffit of is not right and if bread of by a novice u sell it to your throwing curs back into the lurcher jean pool.

I understand what you are saying. If I were you I would do everything in my power to test and perservere with a dog before giving up on it. Then pass it on to someone who would appreciate it for what it is worth, perhaps even being just a pet.

 

Next time your gonna :headshot: please give me a PM. I will find a good home for it. It will at least save you a few bullets.

sadly i have tried to stay out of this thread but i have now failed!!!

 

kate , if you dont want to rescue , then dont? but dont dictate to others that all rescue dogs are shite!! some of us are happy to give a dog another chance when usually its man whom has failed them, im proud to be one of those people who is willing to try to put right others mistakes

 

there are many dogs in rescue which are taking places of far worthy causes and i agree some should be PTS , i am very anti animal "charities" as i feel they are more responsible for deaths in all animals with their political agendas and "cash crops " from joe public!!!

 

there is no right or wrong answer on rescue , some are willing some arent , it depends on how far you are willing to go to help out what is supposed to be mans best friend, thats for you to decide???

 

crossbreeds of all kinds to me mean exactly the same , they are all entitled to a decent life and loving care ,they are of no higher or lower value than a purebred? i have "mutts" , purebreds and all get the same , they gve back the same too , a willingness to please me and work hard for me , in return we give each other RESPECT

*I* know & understand & respect dogs as the fascinating species of animals they are; *you* "wuv doggies".

Looking through it all again it seems to me the thread is mostly about Kate's need for the internet equivalent of a scrap in the car park. This thread is about meeting her needs, not about the original topic.
