Recommended Posts

TOOK MY DOGS FOR A RUN TODAY .

REALLY WANTING TO HIT IT HARD WITH THE NEW PUP THIS SEASON SO I TOOK THE FOR ABOUT A 5 MILE FAST WALK I WAS ON THE PUSH BIKE. :whistling:

KEEPING IT TO A GENTLE FAST WALK WITH THE ODD SPRINT IN THERE THE PUP WAS LOVING IT BUT THE OLD GAL WAS LOOKING TIRED.

SO I SLOWED DOWN AND RESTED THEM IN THE WOODS UNDER COVER.

THEN WE WERE OFF AGAIN SLOWLY DOES IT I THOUGHT! THEN ABOUT HALF A MILE AWAY FROM HOME THE OLD GAL BANGED ON THE NITROUS AND OFF SHE WENT LIKE A ROCKET SHE KNEW WHERE SHE WAS AND MUST OF THOUGHT FUK HIM IM GOING HOME. :feck:

WHEN I GOT BACK SHE WAS IN HER KENNEL LAYING DOWN CHILLING(SO THERES STILL SOMETHING IN THERE SHES ELEVEN AND TOUGH AS OLD BOOTS)BUT ILL HAVE TO TAKE IT EASY ON HER NOW!

JUST WANTING TO KNOW HOW OLD YOUR GUYS TERRIERS ARE IF THEY STILL HAVE IT OR HAVE YOU RETIRED THEM......

TERRIERS SEEM TO LIVE FOR AGES (I HOPE) :toast:

Got a twelve year old pat/laky cross who still thinks he is ywelve month, dug to him twice last season, still loving it,trying to retire him as when im out for a walk he is always a bit behind but youve still got to keep an eye on him as he is looking for graft all the time.

Guest oldskool

fairly young in that pic but she lived till she was about 18... dug lots and lots of stuff with her and she became a hard dog as she got older... i had her at a year old and she is probably the best i've had although most would have thought she was a bit crap because i could have called her out on hard digs but i used her for everything... rabbits, rats, birds you name it, we hunted it lol

this one finally had to be PTS at age 16 after she had cancer, she was my first Russell and I miss her every day. Up till the last few weeks she never slowed down and always did everything asked of her.

this one was still going 100 miles an hour before he died from coonhound paralysis, I will never again try to nurse a dog with that horrible condition, it was a terrible way for a great dog to go. He had been to 3 coon in a treeset, 10 days later started showing signs, it took 10 days to run its course and almost at the end of it his lungs paralyzed and that was it. He made me laugh every single day of his 14 years, he never slowed down either!
