Corky(amateur) 0
Hi all, when i say barrel, i meen my gun barrel for all you jokers out there! I recently bought a HW77K for £30 from a friend. now before that , well long story so, bloke sort of stole it, refused to give it back, police got involved, gun was given back. as you'd of thought the twat damaged it. didn't realise until i went to zero it after cleaning it up that the scope won't go any further left when you turn the clickers, its still 2.5 inch right of the target. now, i looked down the barrel only to find that it is not straight and rather than looking straight into the piston, i miss out 0.5mm and get the 0.5mm on the other side, so its a slow gradual bend into the middle. has anybody got any advice/experiance with this sort of thing, becuase i don't want to spend a fortune at a shop, only to find its nackered. any advice or help would be greatful. Thanks all All the best Happy Hunting Corky Edited May 20, 2008 by Corky(amateur) Quote Link to post

All I done was to take the barrel off then rest it on two blocks of wood (one at each end of the bend, centre of bend facing upwards) and gently smack the bend out using a rubber mallet or hammer and wooden block) (Easy for me to say being a blacksmith, and bending metal for the past 20 years) Dont worry about it being perfect, as long as you can zero it, no matter how bent the barrel is, the pellet will still fly straight from it, (picture a hose pipe, you can loop it in circles but the water still goes straight out of the end of it!) Hope this helps Andy Quote Link to post

No need to heat as air rifle barrels are quite soft (compared to full-bore rifles), (don't suppose the chap heated it up to bend it in the first place ) Steel dosn't take too much to bend or straighten, just clobber it once then check, then a little more brute force if needed. Andy p.s if there is a fly-press in the super-shed it will make the process very easy (BUT BE WARNED, BE GENTLE!!) Quote Link to post
