i've got a baretta knife. very smart peace of kit, good for deer, but a waste of time for rabbits, other wise a good old openal, or i find a stanley knife pritty good. just change the blade when it get blunt.

large opinal ,soak blade in salt water untill it gets rust on it then it will take a good edge every time you sharpen it

Why the need for salt water, I use an Opinal from timie to time and its well sharp.

they rust easy enough as it is with the carbon steel - still dont see why you would want it rusty though :blink: i use a buck protege now, about 20-30 quid. great knife, great rubber handle on it and a locking blade that takes a real good edge.

Opinel, but put a drop point on it, a few notches on the back of the blade will give a bit more purchase for your thumb & adjust the shape of the handle for your own ' feel '. Total cost less than a tenner.

I have a aito oso blanco spanish stainless armyknife.(from the Dutch army)

It ins't usable by skinning to big(30-35cm!)

My father haves a origional buffalo skinner hunting knife from his uncle from Canada.

i use this..................really good, top quality. 3" blade(75mm) 7" ( 175mm) total length. full tang s/s blade, decent leather sheath. ( very sharp) made in spain by nieto.

 

gutting hook is unbeleivable..............its like having a zip on your rabbit!!!!

 

(oh.....i can supply them at £48 brand new and boxed inc p&p)
