Patterdale - needs a new home

Recommended Posts

I have a black patterdale, male , approx 18 months old, rough coat.

I rescued him from an awful shelter, however, he is not a family pet.

At home/kennel he is very obediant and very quiet.

We have had advice and training sessons from a Dog trainer and the RSPCA who are convinced this dog is definately a working dog.

Please contact me for further details, he is free but I must stress that he needs to be a working dog or with a strong male who can give him what he requires, I can not compromise on that.

I can send pictures if you require them.

rspca convinced its a working dog :hmm::hmm:;)

I spoke to the RSPCA over the phone and described him when we are out of the house and they think that he has more likely been used to the working side of life rather than as a family pet.

I have no idea - Im just relaying what they said!

I have uploaded 2 photos of him in the members gallery - please take a look.

I must stress again that he MUST GO to a family with no young children (below 14) as he can be aggressive with other dogs whilst out of the house.

I would like to know a little bit of information about you before I let him go, we love this dog to bits but he is not safe to be in a house with children.

Gazbull - I have still got him here with me and I live in Skelmersdale, Lancashire.

Terrier man - Pictures of him in the members gallery.

I have been honest in the new members section, I have joined to have him rehomed.

He is an amazing dog! Very, very clever, obediant, quiet and very agile (He has scaled a six foot fence on many occasions!)

He seems to have some problems with other dogs - we cant work out what the problem is. He is fine with a dog one day and then the next he will fight and I mean fight!!

the BEST working terriers ive seen are placid, calm dogs that dont get involved in other dogs at all, they seem to have an air of confidance about them. that makes them different to the mad highly strung loopers that are mad to sink the teeth in each other!! most of them that ive come across are cowards!!! mad to fight when out in the open but in the dark bowels of the earth when things are not going their way they WALK!!! just an observation

He's a cool dog, :gunsmilie:

There is much more about him, than fighting with other dogs. He is definately not a coward, he has an awsome personality that really shines.

I think we are gonna keep him and try to work on his 'behaviour'. It would have been cool to have found him a home where he could do what he is supposed to do or even for someone to give me advise on whether he has been a working dog before we got him, so we knew we were doing the right thing.

Anyhow - thanks for your help guys, lets hope Stitch doesnt scale anymore 6ft walls and return home with a Jack Russell in his mouth for me!!!
