my first experience with a rimmy

Recommended Posts

was invited out today wsith a friend that works at my college he's bin huntin for years weve been out ferreting before but today we took his rimmys

i used a cz not sure what model and he used his new anshultz semi auto but not for too long as there is no silencer fitted yet.

we got to the first bit of land and got out the jeep as we walked down the track there were a few bunnies out i tokk a couple of shots with no results but it got me used to using the rifle and acommodated myself with the mil dots and different ranges. we got to our warren and had a walk around as there wasnt much out and the in the next field over there were some half growns out. so i got settled on a fence post controled my breathing, rested the first dot down between its eye and ears squeeaed and THWACK! then with a hop skip and a jump its was still. my first bunnie at about 30 yards i was well pleased!

next we moved back down and lay up on the warren we waited about 20 mins and there wasnt much doing! we had a couple of pops but no result so we headed back to the jeep. as we got to the bottom of the field the warren was in we saw more bunnies over the other side of the path we found the safest position a picked the largest rabbit and same again i sent a hollow point speedin towards it and then it was dead. we collected it and carried on up the track were we found a fully grown doe munching some grass i moved into position extended the bipod aimed a dot and a half down and nailed it didn't even kick just lay down! that was about 40 yards.

we moved on to another piece of land and set off again i picked off another 2 one to the engine room and one just below the eye both at about 55 yards and then my favorite shot of the day a doe presented itself in the middle of a field about 130 yards away i stalked in closer to about 80/90 and got another fence post sorted myself out and then rested the cross hairs on it squeezed (partialy expecting to miss at that distance as im only used to fireing air rifles)

and to my amazment it just fell over gave a kick and that was that. we gutted the lot and then headed back to his for a brew.

brilliant day all in and pete if you read this thanks again for the oppertunity.

cheers

That's a damn shame mate, bloody risky keeping your airgun in the car. Have you got a mate who would store it indoors for you.

How about you discuss it with your mother and suggest you get a gun cabinet and keep your airgun in there, only you have the key.

Keep shooting and enjoy, good luck.
