Tortoises can swim extremely well, She is a south american red foot and she is 5 yrs old maybe he has herd of or seen a not so well looked after tortoise as my friends one was rescued from someone keeping it in a bucket and that tortoise took a while to learn how to swim again!!! infact its still recovering!! some people are verry ignorant and dont give them any water in witch they can swim in dont ask me why lol they just do :headshot:: Quote Link to post
