stubby 175 Posted May 17, 2008 Report Share Posted May 17, 2008 I used to do it that way in my younger days, and just recently did a squirrel skin, stretched out on a board with panel pins and left to dry, only took couple of days, I would think with a rabbit skin thats larger, you may be able to scrap a bit of the fat? off, once stretched Quote Link to post

crow wing 0 Posted May 18, 2008 Report Share Posted May 18, 2008 they still smell a bit so i would imagine so ok thankyou, i suppose theres ways to remidy the scent if its a little week As kids we always used Borax from the chemist on fox pelts..but that was to soften them and make them pliable as well as cure them..which may defeat the object in what you are trying to achieve...ie retain some scent etc..it was'nt our aim though..fox pelts were stinking rammy..
