At the same age,[24 weeks] my last two lurchers stood 21.5" and 23". They went on to make 24" and 25".

My guess would be about 22" though as others have already said, it doesn't really matter.

Edited to add,a few years back my nephew got a 3/4 collie X 1/4 greyhound.The sire stood 24" and the dam 21",the pup topped off at 19.5" which goes to show you never can tell.

Yeah he still has 2 weeks till 24 weeks, and if he is still averageing an inch a week, he will hit 21" by that time, just like yours. cheers

You said in your post he was 5 months 2 weeks. :hmm: Which is 2 weeks short of 6 months[26 weeks] which would make him 24 weeks ;) or seemingly not.When was the pup born runforyourlife?

At 22 weeks my two were 20.72" and 22" and went on to make 24" and 25" but like I said earlier he'll make what he makes.

Tote, i surgest you learn to add up!!! 5MONTHS IS 20WEEKS!! 5 MONTHS AND 2WEEKS IS 22 MONTHS!! AND 6MONTHS IS """""24"""""WEEKS!!! NOT 26, AS YOU SO BOLDLY STATE!! 6x4=24.....correct me if i am wrong....the pup was born on the 27th november, which now makes him 5months and 3 weeks(23 weeks)...

So on your terms, if your dog stood at 21" when he 6mths old(26 weeks) my dog will be standing at 22", lol.... Dont worry Tote not everyone is good at maths..... And dont try to belittle me" when was your pup born" i can add up mate. :thumbdown::clapper:

I take it there are only 48 weeks in your year not 52,as going on your maths 12 months X 4 weeks = 48. :wallbash: And you have a go at my maths. :wallbash:

Relax mate and try to work this out.

12 months or 52 weeks in a year. do you agree?

6 months then must be 26 weeks.Take off 2 weeks[5 months 2 weeks] = 24 weeks.

And you say you can add up. :icon_eek: I never belittled you,you managed that yourself. :D

"Correct me if I'm wrong" okay,as I'm so bad at adding up I worked your pups age off the calendar,if he was born on 27th November he will be 25 weeks old today.

Try the yellow pages for extra tuition in arithmetic. :laugh:

Does it help you any runforyourlife the way TOMO explains it. :hmm:

4x1=4............4x2=8.........4x3=12.........4x4=16...............4x5=20.......

.....4X6=24.................... 24........that is a mith in life, 52 weeks, count the weeks, then count the days.....

Whats a mith?

It's pointless doing the 4 times table to me mate,I learned it in primary 2. :D

I still say your dog will make about 22",best of luck with him. :thumbs:

Guest joe ox

Age is best worked out by calendar months, if a dog is born on january 1st it will be 3month old on april 1st, 6 month old on july 1st etc etc.

tells you how old stuff is by a date range

at 5.5months of age my roo dog is 27inches to the shoulder

how tall do you think he will be boys

Feckin HUGE mate! :tongue2::D

Sorry......couldn't resist that! LOL

Seriously though, he's gonna be a big un isn't he: though some lines of dog do most of their growing upwards much faster than others. My dog of a not dissimilar type was 26 inches at about 7 months, but he's 1 year old and 27 1/2 inches now: he still looks like a gangly pup though and won't be physically mature until he's at least 2 years old. I certainly won't be doing any serious hard work with him until next winter.

These sort of dogs go up very early, then spend another year or so filling out. Plus if you're feeding him some sooped up complete food with mega high protein he will grow faster than if your'e feeding him naturally. Big dogs like that need to grow as slowly as possible so their bones etc get strong as they go. If you are feeding him raw meat and bone::::::::::then as I said: fecking huge!
