slickdicko 0
Just wanted a bit of advice please. My 8 month old beddy whippet/grey is rabbit mad now and today my terrier snatched a baby rabbit, i threw it for merlin and she ran all over the field with it shaking it as she went. But there's no way she would bring it to me, she would run past me with it but then she was off again. I've no doubt she will get the rabbits but i'm concerned she'll not retrieve. I have done some retrieve training but she changes when there is rabbit involved. Let me know if you have any tips. Let her have a bit of glory. She will settle. I cant understand why everyone always bangs on about retrieving like its the most important aspect for a running dog. Personally I couldnt care a toss if they bring it back or not cos rabbit tastes like shit to me anyway. Why not just enjoy watching her enjoy herself. Be a spectator not a control freak. DON'T LISTEN TO THIS GUY THREBB HE HASN'T GOT A CLUE any dog could catch a rabbit... your talking shit pal the most important thing imo..in a hunting dog is the retrieve and i think everyone will agree.. you go out with your dog catch a rabbit on the lamp then your dog does a lap of the field running round like a blue ass fly. IF I WAS SUCH A GUY I WOULD KICK THE DOG UP ITS ASS.... BUT THEN AGAIN I THINK IN (some) INSTANCES ITS BAD TRAINING NOT ENOUGH TIME SPENT.. 1 SIT 2 LIE 3 STAY 4 RETRIVE 5 HAVE FUN LOOKING AT YOUR PROFILE PAL YOU LOOK AND SOUND A BIT DODGY TO ME ID HAVE THE MODS HAVE A LOOK AT YOU PAL Edited May 21, 2008 by slickdicko Quote Link to post

Thats all it is MY OPINION. But you seem to have a problem with others having an opinion of there own. Plenty of others gave him advice about retrieving and obviously had diffrent ideas to me but they didnt feel the need as you seem to do to judge other folks opinions and in such an aggressive way and now you are sifting through my topics. Are you the thought police. We marched in london to stop people like you. ru_and_dill 0
Personally I couldnt care a toss if they bring it back or not cos rabbit tastes like shit to me anyway Why do you bother then? Why kill them, if you arent going to use them in some manner? Well said, Rabbithunter - the antis have enough muck to throw at us already, without handing them more on a plate. I suppose you do get the odd rabbit that tastes like sh*t, but that's just evidence of a dog with a hard mouth or not paunching them carefully! Threbb, I've got some lovely recipes I can let you have for any number of rabbits, as long as you promise not to give the antis any more encouragement Quote Link to post
