Corky(amateur) 0
hi all, has anybody got or heard of a converted rat catcher? i have been offered one, second hand, £60! bit to expensive if you ask me as the safety is broken and half the silencer is missing, and it's got one of those shoddy scopes on it but, if i was to by it i would really want it converted to either a bigger bottle or a re fillable as it does 50 shots, first 25 at 8.72flb, next 10 at 7.84 and then starts to decrease raPIDLY, AND TRUST ME, these bottles are tiny and VERY expensive! if any one with info could get back to me asap as we have it on a try before you buy sort of thing. Thanks all Corky Quote Link to post

Guest bunnykilla1
there Sh*t even a SMK B2 for £30 would be more usful than one of them Quote Link to post
ChrisJones 7,975
Don't buy it... They're not great new never mind butchered, like you said it is. Save for a little longer and buy something that will actually do what you want it to. Quote Link to post
SteveieP 0
Just wondering if the ratcatcher is classed as a pistol (with a skeleton stock added) or is it a rifle? Just if it's putting out over 6ftlb & is classed as a pistol, then it's not legal. Anyone got any thoughts? Any road up, the one you've been offered hardly sounds like a loved & cherrished example. ChrisJones 7,975
The Ratcatcher is classed as a rifle, and an extremely low powered one at that. Quote Link to post

Useful tool for close range rats or ferals especially indoors, for anything else get a different gun. i have one which i dont use often but when i do it does the job - just dont expect too much from it Quote Link to post

The problem is, you get muppets wanting to spend little money on a gun, then expect to be knocking bunnies over @ 30-40 yards with it, and when they find they can't, it must be 'Because the gun is shite' My king ratcatcher only gets used for clearing feral pigeons out of barns, the type of thing they were meant for, indoor shooting. Brilliant for that, as it doesn't knacker your arms out after you've done a few farms in one night, due to the light weight, and there's nothing worse than getting a bollocking of off a farmer for turning his 50 year old asbestos roof into a piece of swiss cheese! scar 0
like its been said there ok for rats inside another thing that goes on them is the washer on the bolt action just behind the pellet .Daughter and son had one each years ago ok in the garden but that was it Quote Link to post
