I am the same in person that I am online, I think most people are. Maybe less or more cursing, but your normal nature comes out I think no matter where you are. It also means that I 'know' a lot of people on here. I go on other forums, sometime as me and sometime in a fairly half-arsed disguise. I am sure that people recognise me but my role is different so many of the reasons to talk don't exist on those forums. With the people I call friends we will usually acknowledge each other with a PM when we first recognise each other on another site - but after that; why have conversations all over the place ? BlueCoyote 0 Posted May 14, 2008 Report Share Posted May 14, 2008 (edited) yeah i think being a mod, or some kind of boss, can change your personality a bit... and people will probably treat you differently if you're a mod.. which could also change your attitude for better or worse.... in the dog forum when i first joined i didnt pay attention to who was a mod... i just said what ever the hell i liked and couldnt understand why people kept kissing up to this one woman.... she was an AKC breeder, that much i knew... also into the show circuit... a confirmed know it all... five years older than me... but i still didnt see any reason for her to have a legion of brown-nosers and I so much as told her so.... then one evening i noticed the little Moderator Tag beside her name lol for a slight moment i felt like saying "OOPS! she could terminate my account!" but then i realised she couldnt possibly because i had done nothing wrong other than challenge her views. and no we still dont like each other lol and she still has a legion of brown nosers. No I dont consider myself a respected member or one of "The Few"...........I consider myself a miserable twat with a good word for no one...............which I think is a fair assesment. Two things. Being a mod you get three types of people, those who take you as you ever were, those who want to befriend a mod just because of the title and those who hate the title and think that that title is the person.
