Young Rabbits

Before i start im going to say that this is in no way a attempt at starting arguments... :victory:

But why is it that no one seams to be bothered about shooting bunnies at any age and at any time of the year (me incluced) but when someone takes a fox or cub at this time of year there slated for being cruel or un sporting...( to me vermin is vermin at any time of the year) :hmm:

any one any theories (sp) on this one ??

Very simple!! Rabbits breed f***ing fast, foxes don't.

but surely a litter of foxs affects / costs a poultry farmer or keeper as much as a few hundred rabbits do to a arable farmer

I think it's more to do with the speed at which you shoot them - one fox in a night is a good evening's shooting, a single rabbit is a bit light, but still worth popping out. But you might have 200 rabbits to shoot, so they'll last a bit longer than a family of foxes. So the 'sporting shooting' argument means you leave the foxes so you have something to shoot at.

The pest control argument says shoot them all, irrespective, that's why you're there. I subscribe to that point of view :)
