You have to remember,he wrote that book in the 1930's before they had such subtle methods,we are progressing,I once caught 150+ trout in a few hours on my own,using nothing more complex than a carbon-fibre beachcaster,multiplier reel,and a trace of feathers,anyway,as I said,fishing later in the week ;)

Oh i see now how novel, you fish the feathers "dry" i preume. Take a bit of floatant to cover them though. JR will be looking down on you smiling safe in the knowledge that his vision for gentlemans fishing is in such safe hands Mackem :icon_eek:

Obviously I am not going to go into exact details of how I treat my flys beforehand,otherwise there would be no mystique to it,we all have our own little quirks and foibles regarding the fine arts right :victory: Get out fishing much Chess? :whistling:

:icon_eek: Oh,I mean,yeah,course,obvious isnt it :icon_eek: Ummm,heres one of my capes,just prior to tying,I always find it best to tie them on site,at the waters edge,fresher that way right?Just tie your hackles and cape onto a delicate 19/0 hook and let the breeze lift it out :victory:

Heres my trout feathers for big waters and lakes,200 hooks per trace :victory: If your going to catch fish do it properly right?

 

That is some line you throw, weight forward 52 treble tapered? Must be double handed Spey, yeah ? I agree Mcaws are a pain in the arse, bloody EU restrictions.
