woodga 170 Posted May 11, 2008 Report Share Posted May 11, 2008 well traditionaly the 12th of may is the time to cull the branchers (young rooks ) every year sees us travelling up to scotland for a few days to help out the famers by thinning their number a little there are thousands of rooks up here and they can do an awful lot of damage to crop fields so they need to thinned out and we have that job .a little get together of boys ratcherman, rob sharpe, mr teapot , nemo, nighttimenellie my dad and his pal allen , darren and his son micheal and me, well we arrived at tyhe farm on the friday around noon my dad was following on the saturday and was shooting for just the one day here are a few pictures from a great couple of days setting up base camp rob and nemo wer mother and did some tasty meals mr teapot with his first scottish rabbit his second rabbit his third and first snared rabbit in scotland ratcher, nemo, and rob having a breather taking a few feral pigeons out the long walk up to the rook wood a few victims i managed a dog fox out of some cover the lads pushed through nemo caught a good sized brownie out of the loch and i made a prat of myself by getting a bit pissed saturday night and the rain came down so the boys went and got a few cans and we all had a few drinks reminising about a great couple of days poor lad couldnt stand the pace lol loads more pictures to add on later cheers lads for a week end to rember Quote Link to post

NEMO your cooking was fantastic that rabbit was the best i have ever tasted,as was your breakfast ROB. WOODGA was not very well,i can't think why Here he was about 4 hours after getting up I did not take any photos of scotland as i forgot my camera A big thank to all the lads for making it a weekend to remember And a really big thank you to woodga for inviting me along and who also put me up at his house.
