Recommended Posts

right. 1st off my little lad is a little shit in school. he'l be 5 in july and the teachers struggle to get him to sit and listen. typical 5 yr old boy in my eyes but the school think other wise. except one thing. he never shuts up about feeding my kestrel, he absolutly loves it. so the school asked me if i would take her in so that he can talk about her and show her off. she's quiet and very well behaved but i dont know if there are any rules or regs on taking them into schools. anyone got any ideas? if its going to help him out with the schooling i would like to take her in for him.

its some thing i keep forgeting not many people have been close up to a bird of prey.i had to show one of my falcon to a class room full of kids. i pooed , the best think is to get them all to sit down then talk about it and they will ask you a few questions ,then they wanted to stroke her so i just walked round and let them do it one at a time, they was amazed.. and last of all your son will love it ,also have a few extra friends...

I was asked by one of the teachers where my kids go I was up for it and so were the teachers :icon_eek: It was all set up until the headmaster phoned the board to make sure it was still OK and they said NO way but that was the time of this bird flu outbreak. I had the same problem with taking some chicks in for the easter holidays before the bird flu and got the same answer  this was for children about 4-6 years of age who have never seen a chicken how do they think these kids learn these things, drawing with a pencil and paper

I did the school fete a while back and to be Honest it did my head in! Just took a few birds stood them out under a shelter but the questions was a nightmare, I lost count how many people said to me "Is that a Kestrel" when it was a Goshawk ....

The best bit about it was the free tins of Lager and the free Grub! I had the patience of a saint until the end of the day and tryed to drown myself in the "Get The Apple Out Of The Water" bucket ;)....
