D ringed purse nets

Recommended Posts

Just looking a the d ring youv'e got 12 meshes on it i'd like to try a bigger one i just like my nets 20 meshes wide till i get to the length i require

looks like 11 to me, I use 18.

You two are obviously new to the net making game :hmm: ...Just because there's only a dozen or so knots on a ring doesn't mean it's only that many mesh's wide. A lot of the net makers on here make proper nets, starting at a dozen maybe then going out to the desired size and then back into a dozen :tongue2:

saves a lot of time and materials that way Mike and the nets are still as good as a full 18, 24 or whyatever continuous meshed net. they look smart nets Nik and i like the idea of the D rings. i do like the bright nets, alot of my ferreting is shitty ground were the usual green nylon you will be forever leaving them behind and yes i do dip the pegs on ALL my nets BRB but its easy enough for a bit of ivy or foliage to cover such a small area were as a net...its a bit harder. dont know about changine colours every few rows unless your out of one twine but guess it stops folk pinching them :D

Im no into shaped nets been there tried that never again and im no worried about saving twine on a net sooner have a nice big net

from using full nets i found i was left with a load of spare mesh bunched up around both rings, with the shaped there still plenty big enough and wide enough but like most stuff - whatever you prefer and have most success with keep using it. good hunting lads.

One is actually 11 meshes shaped up to 15 meshes deep and finished at 11 on the end D ring,, the other is 10 on the D shaped out to 14 deep and finished at 10. 2 1/4" half mesh.. 4 1/2" full mesh. Regards..
