netrigger 568
After a good natter with Rabbiteer of this site he mentioned D rings instead of the useuall o rings for Purse Nets,, Personally having made dare i say it thousands of nets in my time from the Black Pudding Rings to the Plastic and the Old Beer Can Ring Pulls!!( fek that was years ago).. Rabbiteer kindly sent me up a few D rings and one off his Nets which I may add was very well made.............. Whats your Views on thr D's if you have used them?,. Regards.......... Guest Rabbiteer
Best nets I have ever used. Because of the flat edge of the ring they are easy to knit on to. And, the size of the ring allows a very fast pursing action. I knit 24 rows of 2"1/4 and i can almost throw them at the hole and its covered. I think it would be interesting to see how a net with a D-ring and a slider might perform. Wishing you all the best, Rabbiteer Edited May 10, 2008 by Rabbiteer Quote Link to post
fishfish 17
wow what a great idea! where can i get some?????? rabbiteer,i love the multi coloured nets! is there a purpose other than wow factor??where do you buy the cordage? Quote Link to post
danf 0
Iv never used them but they seem like a very good idea and twelve meshes fit perfectly on the flat part, nice one .D. Quote Link to post
Guest bigredbusa
d-ring is a really good idea but the gay rainbow nets is just wrong , you get out in the field wearing a bit of realtree , creep up to the holes trying to be as quiet as poss ....whoa put that fag out , keep the ferrets away for the moment as the noise might upset . looking around to make sure no ramblers or do gooders can see you as you dont want people stomping over. and what do you do ? pull out the world famous YMCA rainbow nets !!!!! duh !! whats the point ? why dont you just put a beacon on your head ? i dont want to hear the poor excuse of ' you can see the nets better' why not just dip the ends of the pegs ? you are now moving away from tradition and moving into bling , next you will be telling me your ferts have the big bling ear-rings with a burberry cap . rant over what ever floats your boat i suppose , me , i dont swing that way . IanB 0
I think they look great, personally any colour does me as long as there well made....one things for sure you won't leave one of them beauties behind Bigredbusa not everyones looking over their shoulder, if your on permission and any ramblers come up kicking a fuss, use a bit of harsh language, if that doesn't work give them the hairy side... Guest bigredbusa
oh im sorry ian , but on all my PERMISSION i just like to ferret in a traditional way and not to look like one of the village people , but like i said each to there own and they are not my cup of tea , and if any ramblers come over the damage has been done if you have ferts down . i suppose thats the joy of an open forum that you can say what you think hey oh and ferretville here is a little quote from a classic film ' you're not a dog are you gary' Quote Link to post
TOMO 26,797
it dont mater what colour they are, its all about setting them right, rabbits are colour blind. mind you , its a bit of a fuss, tying all those nots on , to change colours. i like a net with only one tye on , in its length. Guest bigredbusa
"get your tounge outa my arse hole gary, dogs do that, your not a dog are you gary?" classic yes i like snatch too well im glad someone got it , thought that was going to be wasted lol Quote Link to post
The one 8,511
Just looking a the d ring youv'e got 12 meshes on it i'd like to try a bigger one i just like my nets 20 meshes wide till i get to the length i require Quote Link to post
Guest Rabbiteer
I have to say that I like mine big too, 15 x 24 for me. As Chalkwarren says "A big net will catch what a little net can't". So Bigredbusa. Im confused by your replies, would you like to buy 20 Village people nets or not. The real reason they are those colours is a bit more complicated than just ferreting......................... Quote Link to post
