Irish Lurcher 1,013
Was out for a walk last night in Clogherhead, Louth, few lads fishing for them, but none caught. Quote Link to post
Neil Cooney. 1
Thanks lads. Actually Clogherhead is where I do my mackeral fishing. They were early enough last year and was wondering were they in yet. Seen some Mayfly on the Boyne the last few days so that should keep me busy 'till the mackeral. Quote Link to post

leegreen 2,180
Anyone catching mackeral around Ireland yet? Sorry not Ireland but south coast England. We had about 200 between 10 of us with 4 short stops on the way home from wrecking which wasn't as productive, 8 Pollock 4-8lb and 6 Cod 3-6lb. Quote Link to post
cúagusgiorraí 57
I was out this week. Just the odd few caught here and there, nothing like it was this time last year. I caught a few pollack , which was nice. I will post when I hear they are in big time. Quote Link to post
Guest G.Mac
Just a wee update on the mackeral around here. Sick looking at the fukers now ha ha. Loads past 2 weeks, bit of a storm put them off for a few days but now they are back. I was talking to an old fella who makes boats here and he told me they had 24 dozen in 2 hours the other day 5 on a jig both sides of the boat. He keeps most of it for the freezer and gives the rest away,I get sick of it after a few days, hate spitting out the bones. Quote Link to post
