Larson springs

I fancy having a go at making some torsion springs for a top catching larson trap. Any one have any experience with this?

 

I could easily get high tensile stainless steel wire of a reasonable guage and make a simple jig, heating them above 300 degrees would be difficult though.

 

I have ordered six proper ones from solway feeders so I can at least make a start on a trap.

 

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.
