Lamping out 1,5 hour

Recommended Posts

Finally a night with a little bit of wind and no frost :D

So we went to a place were a few rabbits stay, with the meaning to train our 4 month old pup.

Toke 2 other dogs and let them slip on turn and let the pup look or on a good chance let him run along.

He did very well almost caught a rabbit on his own when it came running into him.

It's a very keen dog, a fast learner and furious (pulls and barks when he cant run along).

He runs full speed into the bushes when he's after a rabbit and jumps over ditches even when he cant make it. :good:

if your not carefull that pup will end up on the scrap heap..the dog shelters r full of them...as 4 barking when watching the other dogs run...well sounds 2 me like the damage has allready been done...take him back out when he is 10/12months old and u might just b lucky.

Exactly what i was guna say mate ... I too have a young dog and was eager as hell to get her out asap and see what its all about but, after advise from mates and people on here who know what theyre talkin about i held back. No problem getting your pup out mooching about, it will only benefit. But letting it watch and run at 4 months  , barking with frustration at this age could trn into barking whenever the dog sees something or is coursing, this a hard thing to knock out of em and what every lurcher owner could do without. Just my oppinion.

Patje, which belgium sheperd ????

I know F--K all about lurches, but you'd be better off putting your keenness, into basic obedience, retrieving work and all that stuff. :good:

by the sounds of things your imprinting barking as being part of the hunt, through frustration
