Guest Ditch_Shitter
Very fair chance ~ though it's hard to judge the height ~ that it'll chuck the rat up in the air, mate. Of course, ye may get lucky and catch him by the neck every time? Third time lucky? Quote Link to post
donky7 9
oh yes.... the mk 3 will be spot on...lol the height of the fenn when shut is mm..... hardly any room, but my welsh mate says i may struggle with half catch's.... the first time get just a tail... i'll trash it and start again. georgehare 0
By your fatal mistake do you mean putting the trap in the wrong way round ? Personally i dont see the point in fancy boxes. Just have a simple tunnel with no bottom dig the trap in so it sits level with the ground, make sure there is fresh soil around the entrances Quote Link to post
donky7 9
my attempts may seem wat OTT for a few of you.... but 5 nights out of the week, i'm house bound... so its either on the pc in between walkin the dog or get constructive. i enjoy a challenge, to say i only has me left arm.... Just a thought mate .your trigger should be to the side so that the jaws have a scissor effect on your rat . Quote Link to post

Matt 160
Donks Forget floors, ramps and other useless stuff, follow the advice given and keep it simple; two sides and a top (or even two sides as suggested by snareman) will be easier to make and will give better results. Quote Link to post

Rolfe 2
If you enjoy the carpentry then good luck to ya Donks..........But really you just need a three sided tunnel with restricted access at the ends designed to take a Mk 4 or MK 6 Fenn for most situations. I use them with Mk 4's at the base of favourite trees (oak usually) unbaited for foraging squirrels. Simply bed the Fenn into the ground and sit the tunnel on top........I try and disguise mine from two legged thieves also with a few twigs and branches. Quote Link to post
Squirrel_Basher 17,100
Dont listen mate ,they are all jealous of your obvious talent and fieldcraft .Do what works in your situation .At least a bottemed box dosnt get turned over with a catch in it and the prize and trap , lost to a badger! .
