mine threw very much back to the grandmother... she only made 22" tts and she had a brilliant dash of speed in her, she wasnt scared of the hedges either... i was hopin to get tryin her on fox but i never got the chance... i bred them hopin for good lampin dogs that could handle rabbit, hare and a few foxes but from the reports i get back they do have a habit of yippin... this is one a wee fella in armagh had off me it made 27"tts and he says its doin well on the couple of foxes its seen but as far as i know its been doubled up...

yipping is often caused by putting young dogs on quarry their never going to catch or to meny runs at a time, its a common mistake with hare coarseing dogs her in norfolk, thers always another hare to run in the next feild, its a sign of frustration and hard to cure, slow and steady with young dogs.patents is worth it,give young dogs easy slips, early sucses and end on high notes.good dogs are hard to find and easy to ruin.happy hunting

could leave em layin in hot kennal?like to take my lot on mass bushing rabbits or the beach, they can run as much as they like and stay fit without over doing it,nothing to hunt but rabbits this time of year for me anyway, got a young lurcher to bring on for next season and is ideal for him.

Oldskool how did the dog turn out love too know as it was him i was supposed too get but as i changed my mind at last minute!

i gave him to a young fella that came up here with his dad to look at a couple of russell pups... he seems very pleased with the dog but then again he's only a young lad too and its his first lurcher... i think we were all easily pleased at that age... he grew to 28" tts as well... regarding the size of them, i thought the litter would have been more even than that because i crossed back to pure greyhound and not a lurcher???

what breed was they?

dam was a bull x whippet/greyhound and the sire was an ex track dog... pups she had either threw to the sires side or some of them threw back to the grandmother, she was a whippet/greyhound....

that dog looks in great nick ooty :good:
