your best bet is to speak to the irish lads you might have a better chance, good hard dogs, i know a guy by me in the who has two for guarding his place and feck me you wouldnt go near it with them two

Good for nothing only shaping. I remember them at the trials years ago useless.No bottle at all they were full ov gas with other dogs but it was only gas.They would kill a small dog if u turned your back but with anything a little bit bigger they were cowards

Don t think that particular one was pure.

 

Same as all the rest of the "legendary old time dogs" Irish terrier etc etc the % would be well down,man biters and bullies.

seen these dogs in my youth being used by our local club for the big stuff before the ban most that were pure where dog fighters and as some one has already said cowards when the going got tough there was also a lot with bull blood introduced and a lot of wheaton blood put in but most people stuck to bull types and wheatons as they did the job also seen one crossed to a greyhound a few years back total shit give tonuge on a fox and stood back

thers a big fat lad in knowle bristol hes got some they say he works them he used to have some decent lakies that wer good workers but i havent seen the kerrys work myself so i cant comment on there performance

Anybody else know anything about standard schnauzers? Not the usual miniatures. What are they like training and guarding wise,as well as bushing, ratting etc?

Not really, just interested in the standard schnauzer as a guard, companion and ratting/bushing dog in the future.
