fishfish 17
According to Mr Brown inflation is running at a nice happy 3% but as highlighted on BBc 24 in real terms its more like at least 30%,and the recent fuel strikes in scotland have just given the greedy sods ANOTHER excuse to hike up fuel prices. we live in a very rural area,we have 3 busses a week 2 on a wednesday to the same market and another on a saturday to salisbury market and stayes for 2 hours, the nearest shop is an 8 mile round trip which is a long 8 miles 0n a pushbike or shankses poney! but never the less we have decided to scrap our 2 cars, the first to go will be the mondeo today, the final straw was yesterday a 22 mile round trip to our nearest supermarket,we used £10.00 of petrol! when we sat down and worked it out,the 2 cars cost us £110.00 per week to keep on the road ( MOT TAX insurance and fuel), and one is allways parked up out of fuel. our plan is to get a 125cc bike for the mrs and i to use,at £30.00 a year for tax and 70 to the gallon and full comp for £65.00 per year its all we can afford. in all seriousnes i want a pony and cart. we looked into electric pushbikes but theyre expensive, and got knows the cost of charging them up! Mrs fish has just got a job as a caretaker/ cleaner for the school, taking the family off benifits for the first time in 3 years,so now we are £73.00 a week worse off than we were, things have never been so hard.god only knows how the families that dont grow their own veg and hunt/fish are coping. things werent this hard under thatcher. A re you feeling the pinch too? whats happened to you?

agrifabs 0
i agree with you mate... my gas and electricity bills are £75 quid a month EACH! i went through a phase of making a 12v wind turbine to run my barn lights on - works nicely!! only cost me about £90 to make, we get lots of wind up on the smallholding! if any of you are interested in making a basic 12v wind turbine then the following site and forum will help you alot - best site ive come accross www.gotwind.org because it's 12v its safe, charge your phone up, drills etc too, i also have an inverter running off my battery bank so in theory i could watch television etc... chris ps... if you do decide to go onto the above website, dont buy the plans that they have for sale, pm me and i will send them to you for free because im a good person! this is a picture of my landy by the way just after i sprayed it! did have a freelander but was crap, this is the best £400 and £700 on repairs i have ever spent!!
