pegandgun 52
Make sure your barrel is clean first Nutshot. You have a floating barrel on your T3,Get a peice of paper and slide it between barrel and stock to make sure it is still fully floating.I would also adjust your trigger onto or close to the minimum setting which is a 2lb pull.It will be factory set at 3lb pull at the moment which is too hard for really accurate shooting. What scope and mounts are you using nutshot?? Are you using Tikka mounts?? Some rifles simply dont like certain bullets so try a different type of bullet but to be honest i dont think its your bullets thats the problem. Have you had your barrel threaded,if so your crown could be Knackered?? Is your scope new, your scope may be Knackered, try another scope?? Home loads is worth considering!! Where are you from mate,if your close to me you can bring your rifle over and we will sort it out. Quote Link to post

[bANNED TEXT] i should have mentioned is the gun is new and these are the first rounds through it ,dont know if this is the problem .by the way i live in suffolk .thanks met .. Quote Link to post

nutshot 0
yes cramp federal 55 gr ballistic tips Quote Link to post
cramp 4
i dont trust factory ammo i started loading my own and the results are 10 times better plus half the price Quote Link to post
pegandgun 52
Totaly agree Cramp.I havnt used factory loads for years but your groups should be alot better than 4" at 100yards even with factory loads. Ide get a few more rounds through the rifle and see if the groups improve Quote Link to post
markbivvy 6
the gun is new how much ammo have you put down it. is it new to you or brand new. Quote Link to post
nutshot 0
yes cramp home loads are better , but surely them federals should group better than that , they were all over the bleeding place , neither me or my mate could get them to group ,beginning to think theres something up with the gun or maybe it has just got to be broke in ? nutshot 0
its brand new , its only had 30 rounds through it met Quote Link to post
pegandgun 52
Has it been threaded,i have seen quite a few problems with newly threaded rifles, infact ive just had that exact problem myself. The bloke who threaded my .222 f****d my crown on my Tikka T3.That could be your problem or you havent mounted your scope/mounts correctly.Take off, strip and re-mount your scope and mounts I cant see that theres much else to go wrong. It shouldnt need braking in but a few more shots wont hurt I would try some other ammo.Your rifle just might not like Federal Quote Link to post
nutshot 0
thanks for your help pegandgun ,no it has,nt been threaded met , but i will do as you say with the scope and mounts . and also try some different ammo to . have you any ideas as to [bANNED TEXT] factory ammo would be worth trying as i hav,nt got any reloading gear and really the time to do it either Quote Link to post
