Guest JohnGalway
Hi Liam, Sako does a version of the Quad that comes in HMR. I've shot two Quads with HMR barrels as well as my own Quad which has a .22lr barrel. Very accurate, light handy rifles. With the HMR version the ONLY issue I can think of with them is that the stock, depending on your own build, may be slightly short but spacers are readily available Strongly suggest you take a look at them All the best, John Quote Link to post

lgray88 4
that sako quads seem like the dogs bollocks , what sort of cost is the quad , and the barrels are just screwed on ? what happens to the mgazine beacuse , hmr and wmr rounds are long then the lr and hm2 rounds , and when you buy the rifle do all the barrels come with the gun or are they bought sperately ? liam Quote Link to post
SportingShooter 0
With the Quad, they can be had as a set if you have all the relevant paperwork or with just one calibre barrel. They do indeed screw on and the magazines come in two types one for the 22LR/.17HM2 and a seperate one for the HMR and WMR. It would be hard to justify all the different barrels so having the set is unlikely. Depending on where you shop then the Synthetic will cost around £450 new. Hope this helps SS Quote Link to post
lgray88 4
yeh your right i guess you would never justify having 4 diffrent calibers, i have the 177 and 22 on my paperwork , so i would just get those barrels then id have 2 .22's , just been on the phone to the guy i deal through for firearms he mentioned they were expensive but he would try and find me a price , so are they pretty good then those of you who have used them , what about sights when changing between barrels etc , they mention on the sako website of a sight specially designed for the quad so that you have 4 diffrent settings for each caliber is this necessary? liam Quote Link to post

It's quite simple all you need to do scopewise. Get mounts that will be just high enough to remove the barrel Get the best quality scope that you can't afford Now, say you get the .22lr and .17HMR barrels and say you're going to use the HMR the most. Put on the HMR barrel, zero the rifle as normal. So now you have the zero for your HMR, put on your .22lr barrel. This is the trick. While zeroing your .22lr barrel carefully count your scope adjustments click, both windage and elevation. Write this down. Now, all you need to do to go back to HMR zero is reverse those clicks. Click again and you're back to .22lr zero. Snot rocket science I've had an MTC Viper 4-16x50 on mine and now a Leupold VX-III 4.5-14, I could zero for two or more barrels easily, one has hunter style turrets, one target style turrets The important bit is to write down the click difference between the two different zeroes. lgray88 4
what about a sound moderator , is there anything universal i could use for say the .22lr barrel and .177 hmr barrel or will seperate mods need to be purchased for each calibre liam Quote Link to post
Guest JohnGalway
SAK will work fine for both I'd imagine. Quote Link to post
jamie g 17
i like the sako quad and im sure its a cracking rifle the only thing that puts me off is say something when wrong with it your stuck then. where with me if my 22lr cz was playing up and i nedded it sorting i still have the annie hmr to use. you couldnt do that with the quad that means both cal's would be out of action but lets face it what is going to go wrong with it really sako's are rock soild rifles as are most other makes there isnt really anything in them to go wrong as long as you keep the mag, bolt, area clean Quote Link to post
lgray88 4
will the one SAK mod work for both calibres though or is diffrent for each calibres? liam Quote Link to post
