bird 9,859
Yes, very sad, brought a tear to my eye, especially this image They cruel b******s will cut the ear tatoos off as well. I have seen a few up my way. It is the saddest thing to see. What makes it worse , is that greyhounds are a very gentle loving dog, that likes man . man as a lot to answer for BIRD Quote Link to post

leegreen 2,151
Feck me I know its bad but as I have said before there is human tradgerdy happening all over this world and everyone freaks out about the racing buisiness. Would it not be as bad if we ate a few so that the dogs didn't die for nothing (we could sell them to the fast food outlets, get it). I have even read some posts in the past about dogs getting it because they didn't make the grade and that is on here . Don't see anyone piping up about the meat industry, I know its not exactly the same but the welfare is not a lot different. I strongly beleave that if something has to die then it should be in the calmest/kindest way possible. Quote Link to post

Im not a big lover of vet bills myself mate but its Simple, if you own a dog vets bills are part of the package. like owning a car, mot ,tax etc etc... if you cant be responsable enough to own one, then they shouldnt be aloud to own them.. Nothing to do with vets. Maybe every owner should have each dog tagged like cattle livestock are nowadays, every movement traced. Quote Link to post

A good idea if it could be done properly but I think it would be very hard to do but not impossible, it would certainly make the hounds a bit slower if there wasn't so much wastage or so much to choose from. It probably costs a vet no more than £10 to put a dog to sleep, if they charged £20 they would still double there money. If it cost £20 even £30 for putting greyhounds to sleep what are retired, injured not suitable for racing there would not be as many unwanted greyhounds around. Thats how vets are half to blame IMO Quote Link to post
sandymere 8,263
The vast majority of greyhounds get well looked after but as with lurchers it's the few nasty feckers that give all the rest a bad name. Please bare in mind that is a propaganda video and could be made about lurchers in an attempt to have a go at us. Quote Link to post

Every year the RSPCA put more healthy dogs and cats to sleep than any other charity in the uk, the propaganda seen on tv is just for hearts and minds of the gullible! I still found it sad, that a greyhound is used as a disposable object, after in a lot of cases, making their owner a good few bob.. Their is fools and certain bad elements in the lurcher world aswell, that treat their dogs the same way.. I choose my freinds carefully in the lurcher world, the few i know, are very decent and are some of the best working dog people i have ever met in my life. Quote Link to post
