Guest JohnGalway
Alrighty, here's the deal as I understand it based on discussion with other mods and admin. Something new that I've learned to day is shooting phesants in season and with the appropriate landowners permission with an air rifle is legal, so my apologies for saying it wasn't, I was wrong on that. However, it must be in season and with the relevent permission . Any hint of shooting out of season, poaching or taking them under darkness will be removed quick smart All the best, John Quote Link to post

ChrisJones 7,975
can you get done for shooting game out of season Yes. While it's rare if we don't honour the seasons then, year by year, we do ourselves out of our sport. Respect your quarry. cant shoot pheasants with an air rifle any time of the year with an air rifle i dont think. they are not classed as quarry or pests There is no law I'm aware of that says you can't use an air rifle to take game birds. Game laws state times of day and times of year when they can't be taken but it doesn't mention methods. The scatter gun boys will cry ethics but that's just elitism. If your equipment is up to the job and you're within the law there is no issue. a phesant has to be off the ground before you can shoot it mate. hence the shot gun. That's one I'm not aware of. Can you tell us where you heard that? Alrighty, here's the deal as I understand it based on discussion with other mods and admin. We don't sit here thinking of ways to harass members but if you have a post removed, in the future, then there you will find the reason. Taking the moderator hat off for a moment... Great guns, look forward to reading your hunting stories! Quote Link to post
