Do Ferrets Moult?

As my son just called and said one of the Ferts is moulting. Not sure if this is the norm.

if they arnt neutered they tend to have a light moult,but if they have been neutered they tend to moult to a short smooth summer coat

They moult.

 

Me carpets turn a funny colour when they do, and the pub dog goes barmy.....

I dunno about a light moult, mine mould big style over a period of a week or so! Especially the jills they are well wooley just now in few they will sport a really short coat.

mines moult every year but the first year dog ferrets dont much , all depends how cold it is etc and if theyare out side etc some of last years s young ones ive got ive fed on lamb thye ended up with thick wooly coats like a poodle unreal had to clip them as they were geting caught in the bramble bushes once i changed there diet the curls came out there coat has anybody else had that happen to them

They tend to have a couple of good moults each year & mine sometimes loose hair for a day or so in between the main ones

if its a pregnant jill they moult when they are nearly ready to drop. hows Brian keeping Lee?
