i read DS's thread about the wee jack russell gettin hit with a car and thought it was feckin terrible... next day i was at work and recieved a call to say that my sister reversed over 'magic', the new pup... i happen to be close by any way so i turned the lorry round and flew home... to be honest i didnt think he was goin to make it but i got dad to take him to the vet and after heavy antibiotics and morphin i think he will recover ok... he has come along nicely in just a few days and hopefully he will make a full recovery, fingers crossed anyway... he seems to have suffered a thump to the head but there doesnt seem to be any damage to the brain but he does have trouble breathing at the minute and has to be fed all his food liquidized!!!

here he is

after his stay at the vets he has lost tremendous weight, vet says its because of the shock and heavy sedation... he is starting to slowly put weight on again but it will take time and he's very shakey on his feet i hope its just because of the morphin and nothing to do with his brain??

My old stafford dog was hit by a car at 10 months , he had escaped from the garden of the new house the day we moved . The driver carried on in the usual way they do , the dog ran off in a blind panic , luckily i was on my way to the house as he ran round a corner on the other side away from the house , 2 minutes more i would have probably never seen him again . Anyway to cut a long story short i picked him up , took him to the vet , who gave him , in the vets words a `massive morphine injection ` , he was serverly bruised and grazed all over , he did`nt eat for a week and was to sore to sit down , he wedged himself behimd the sofa so he did`nt have to lie down to sleep , but slowly he got better intill he was back to his normal self , it was a horrible time , but he did get over it !! lived till he was 15 , blind and deaf , but still my old boy , so don`t worry too much mate i know its had at the time but he will recover well and in a few months you wont even think about it , good luck with him mate , he looks a cracker

magic's form deteroirated on wednesday evening folks... i'm gutted because he was doin so well and i thought we had the problem licked but his breathing dropped nearly completely when i got up early tis mornin and the swelling around his eyes had nearly doubled to the point where he was blind... i think he was struggling that hard to breath that he was so exhausted he just messed his bed and lay in in all night... the injection on tuesday didnt seem to have any improving affects on him so when we went to the vet today and he advised that putting him to sleep was the kindest thing... his final analysis was that it was a brain injury that would leave the pup partially blind and unable to balance... what can i say, i took his advice and let him go ahead...

havent told the sister yet... and feck i'm not lookin forward to it either
