3 Bitten in rabies attack

Recommended Posts

Have just read the story about a lady who apparently brought 5 stray dogs over from Sri Lanka that were placed in quarantine. One that was subsequently found to have rabies bit her, and two other people. All 5 dogs were destroyed, and the people bitten have received treated and are not thought to be at risk.

Now, is it me, but do we not have enough strays here? While I am not uncharitable, I'm nevertheless dismayed and deeply disturbed, that with all the human suffering in the world, anyone could spend all that money (flights from Sri Lanka, quarantine X5 for 6 months) on bringing 5 stray dogs to a country full of them. I may have the facts wrong, if so I am happy to be corrected However, if it's as stated, I have clearly landed on the wrong planet. Beam me up Scotty!

i heard a little about it on the radio but not the full story, i cannot understand why people would want to bring dogs back when there is thousands of dogs needing homes here and the thoughts of rabies sends a shiver down my spine ,all i can say it was a good job they was in quarantine
