Stroppy WHP, Kiwi what advice.

Recommended Posts

Kiwi, been going on with my bitch, general obedience and some retrieving. For no reason 3 days ago she just became really cheeky . Not coming to heel not entering the kennel and generaly disobedient. Now I've kept it intresting, and not been pushy is this a phase they have. She had been doing so well. I ain't losing patience but its a real backward step. Or is it.

is there a chance the bitch is coming into season, they do tend to act up a bit then.

just a phase, they like to see how far the limits are and i have grown to just ignore the stages and let them grow out of it, i counter act there pissing around with quick thinking and not giving them time to dig there heels in, not entering the kennel can be fixed by grabbing her quick and stuffing her in, making it as messy and unpleasant as possible if she ignores being told to get in, giving her time to think about it, she will quickly learn to push simple commands.

a more pc approach is to put her on a lead and walk her to her kennel.

don't be afraid to go right back to basic training for the heel work.

once you break the stubborn streak the breed is famous for they bond very close and learn very fast.

Thanks guys, I should have mentioned shes in her 8/9th month so Akiro, the in season explanation is probably true, you just get so used too them being a pup you overlook the obvious. Kiwi I do endorse as you said too. I am being carefull as one off the breed books I read stated that between the 6-9mnth period they are psycologically vulnerable and too be carefull off how heavy you endorse your actions. Like I said, I should have mentioned her age. I'll keeep on as I am till we get through this. I have too say, I am altogether very impressed by the learning capability and temperment off the breed. Thanks for your replies
