trader 0
just say i had a pure saluki bitch to breed from and i wanted to use an imported dog ....is there any imported dogs in the UK or are there any other working salukis here other than Khan Jihad and Toby respectivley cheers recently saw a picture of an imported saluki in cmw ,black and white dog ,certainly looked the part ,however they do use stock photos so it could be taken a while ago, give them a ring they are pretty helpful ive found :trader If that's the same picture I'm thinking of trader, it was miscaptioned as the shot was actually of John Lennon and his Star bitch. He and I had a laugh at the claim that it was an imported saluki. Who on earth dreams up these captions? That bitch took 7 out of 7 one day and was witnessed by independent observers. I saw her pluck a flying partridge out of the air on another occasion. Stars grandchildren are still running around these British Isles and retrieving well ive got an eye for a 7 out of 7 dog Quote Link to post
shaddow 166
i probably could take the bitch to the dog might be easier , but europe woukd be easier than the UAE ....is there any kennels in europe that keep Desert bred dogs ? ive also heard about a line from USA Chubasco salukis apparantly fastest line in USA and all are worked but im not positive on this Chubasco bred Saluki,s have recently been imported into the country, but youve no chance of using one are they a working strain miles ? do you know much about them mate , i know there smooth and theres a kennel in belgium or hollan with a black and tan one , it looks the business Quote Link to post

chris pemberton 1
The "Kizzy" stuff is very fast but , especially in the last few generations , can be lacking in outright "strength".Were as, the desert stuff tends to be a bit steadier but are very, very strong. I'd totally agree with that. My first Saluki fudge out of The "Kizzy" stuff Cruise of ShildonXDelightful Lady was ideal in my eyes, speed, stamina and strength. My Ameerah current bitch is very fast firey as hell (I like them like this it can be a liabilty at times though) and can stay forever but I'm not filled with the same confidence Fudge gave me regarding strength although touch wood she has be ok so far. My Saluki dog Tariq is very very strong, fast enough and can stay well enough. He's a wee sappy/woosy at times but he was a rescue so very little about him, he is possibly down from Deacon lines or other show stuff he is certainly not kizzy stuff he does'nt have that go about him. My pup out from an accidental coupling of Ameerah to Tariq is very fast and can stay and really firey when roused like his mother. The Americans I've conversed with tell me the English coursing lines of Saluki's are generally the fastest. A Saudi told me his good Salukis when on a strong Gazelle often run 8km+ at 60kph (37mph). The Kurdishs do as, Miles says seem to be beaten all other type just now. There alot of Kurdish imported to germany I plan on bringing in my next Saluki probably from the US or maybe germany, second generation COO bred hopefully using the Pet Passport Scheme to avoid Quarantine. khans parents was bred to stay and gear to live with all the top dogs at the time singel handed couresingfast to live with top dogs i never lost a match only had 5 matches mind. top dogs at time kippers pip jan jacks sister tip tipper out of sheps bitch sold to gudy 13 grand kreagans molly top bitch ginger lees dog bert class my first cross gaf all killed 5 out of 5 in the merry month jan these salukis had big big hearts different class Quote Link to post
bowers1986 3
just say i had a pure saluki bitch to breed from and i wanted to use an imported dog ....is there any imported dogs in the UK or are there any other working salukis here other than Khan Jihad and Toby respectively cheers Firstly, Toby is not a pure bred , doesn't detract from the dog in any way , but if its pures your after Khan has desert blood in him, from his sire is out of "Farha tepe gawra", son of the legendary "Durak". John Lennons stuff is all Kizzy and Pharo stuff and heavily inbred,so your right to go for a desert type out-cross. When Vance used Farha over his bitch (smooth desert bred to kizzy stuff, which is what your looking to do), the litter was outstanding. One of the bitches was runner up in the Forley.......... and Vances bitch was better. The "Kizzy" stuff is very fast but , especially in the last few generations , can be lacking in outright "strength". Were as, the desert stuff tends to be a bit steadier but are very, very strong. Getting access to a dog off the "desert line" That's the hard part Very true mate,, You got any pictures of your saluki bitch? Just been looking through the ad trader and see there's a Kc Registered 3 month old saluki bitch in there for sale bred from cruise lines,PRICED AT £450,If I had the kennel space I might of bought this bitch as its not far from me,,here's the LINK Quote Link to post
