i wanted to put up a post to say what you think of the fight TINMAN the great guy he is has put up the link to watch it.

personally i thought it wasn't joes best AND THAT REF. again he was a one way ref.

if im not mistaken its the ref from the hatton fight.

i think Hopkins is a wimp wanting points to be deducted all the time.

BUT IN THE END JOES MADE HIS MARK .(WHO'S NEXT?) WILL HE CONTINUE....

You're right mate, thats the same referee who wouldn't let Hatton do any inside work.

Funny how much Hopkins was getting away with, keeping Calzaghe tied up all the way through eh!

not the best of fights but calzaghe got it in the end. hopkins holding on constantly,calzaghe couldnt get the combinations going, a wins a win though,, well done calzaghe

i have to agree not the best flight we will ever see but joe done anuff by out working hpkings all night long i got a shock in round one but joe come though that ok

 

i always thought hopkings was a legend aswell but after seeing his dirty trick's to buy time my thoughts have changed

i wouldnt say calzaghe was lucky,he had a bad start and took around 4 rounds to find his distance and settle in,hopkins is a very awkward fighter and a dirty one at that as those of you who saw it will know.

it wasnt joes best night and maybe nerves got to him,his first fight in the u.s and he wanted to put up a good show.

the fact is joe won,no two ways about it and he deserved it.

hopkins has no bottle to fight outside of the u.s,the only time he did,he lost.

yes hes 43,and yes it should of happened 6/7 years ago but it has happened and you all know who won.

dont take the credit away from him,you can read all the crap in the papers about ducking fights,it is after all in the papers,all talk.

he should fight witter then retire,forget roy jones because roy jones will beat him,calzaghe's a super middleweight and he just beat a 4 weight champ,and good on him.

im still celebrating,its my birthday and i have had a fair few guinesses and murphys,and i am well chuffed for joe.

Joe won in my eyes and I think he would have stopped Hopkins if it wasn't for Joe Cortez, but Hopkins has come out of this fight better than Joe

 

Joe was expected to win by most fight fans, Hopkins is 43 years old. In the end it was a very close win for Calzaghe in a fight which could have gone the other way given a different set of judges.

 

Hopkins almost pulled it out with a little help from Cortez.

 

Did Joe Cortez get it right last night or wrong on the Hatton vs Mayweather fight or is he just incompetent?

i think cortez was bad at the hatton fight but pretty fair in the calzaghe hopkins fight ,yes hopkins is dirty ,tricky,and very experenced but he is past his best im not slating joe in any way or form as him and hatton are my favorite fighters around at the moment ,and it was a very shit house trick pretending that he hit him in the balls to get some extra recovery time,yes im very glad its shut the yanks up but it still makes me wonder what if hopkins was in his prime ,would it have been the same fight.
