caterpiller 10
Just watched it, shame there was'nt a bit more of the Ferreting Footage. Some very good points made there by James and the ' Two Oldies'. Ferreted with them and spoke to them a few times whilst at James', to cracking Fella's, Ferreting Mad James thought he was in a Fashion Shoot with his shades on etc..... Quote Link to post

Stallion 0
Cages do work..........but nets are better.........in my opinion Stallion. Quote Link to post
stubby 175
in the oz dvd, they say they use the cages, rather than a purse net, as its possible to get more than one rabbit in them, sometimes two or three, where a purse net is only catching one, as for countryfile, thought it was ok, till that doctor bird started sprouting on about how rabbits help nature/butterflies etc, more fueling for the anti's Quote Link to post

Rolfe 2
it's not always practical or possible to place cages in certain situations........IE hedgerow buries thick with brambles. But in open buries they can and do work. My main concern is the sheer bulk of the damn things to carry about during a days ferreting.........nets are far more versatile. Rolfe. Quote Link to post
TOMO 26,222
the point is that if the ferret dosent come out and its undiggable the cage will catch the ferret i think so you can leave them there for the nighti think anyway no mate thats not the reason, they are used in arkward places, eg if your alone and working a hedgerow , put the cages the other side. or on the sides of rail ways or roads, , this way you wont have ferrets runnig off unsighted or getting sqished, HERES A PIC WITH A COUPLE OF BUNNYS IN ONE, WHEN I WAS FERRETING IN OZ Quote Link to post
