A 12HOUR LIGHT WEIGHING 5 POUNDS MAX IS ABOUT $60 US NOT AGAINST DOING IT YOURSELF BUT PACKING A CAR BATTERY? HOW MUCH TRAVELLING DO YOU GENERALY DO? when i started lamping there was no places you could buy lamps made for the job so it was a case of DIY yerself a lamping kit , cars batterys was the best option and easy to obtain , as for the lamps folk would use enything as long as they got a beam from it , the best lamp i ever had in them days was a spot light off of a trawler boat and a bran fire new car battery i aquired out of a scrap car the first lamping kit that i ever bought was a clue light kit , it cost me about £50 ? i thought it was the dogs baws for years until i found out about light force and i got myself one of them strikers and have never looked back :thumbs-up: ! it is good to see folk still make there own kits my new battery is a 17amp 12v dry cell , i aquired it from the local skip , it has been good to me so far Quote Link to post

Guest Rabbiteer
SKIPS ARE GREAT I just got two 17amp hr batteries for £2 a few days ago. I would definately reccomend going with an amp-meter and testing the stuff that has been chucked out. Yes there is some dud's but the two that I have go were in near perfect condition. Wishing you all the best, Rabbiteer Ps I will keep an eye out for some spare batteries. If there seem to be some good ones I will test them, charge them, and then offer them out to any one who PM's me. You will of course be expected to pay the postage and give me my £1 back.
