nice to see some of the old lamps brings back memories as for a good battery to use look out for sealed burgular alarm batteries at car boot sales can pick them up for £5 and no more ruined clothes for the missus to moan about also for a fox call that costs nothing try taking a wooden clothes peg apart dump the spring then turn peg over so both flat sides are touching then with a old cassette take it apart save the tape cut a piece of tape and put it between the two parts of the peg tape up one end then it other end insert small piece of a match to make it slightly open you may have to mess about to get the opening right when you do get it then tape that end up this should leave small gap in middle with cassette tape running though it you then just blow takes a bit of practice but once you get the hang of it you will never pay for one again may sound long winded but only takes about 2-3 minutes to complete have used this call myself for 20 odd years

Heres a pic of my home made battry pack i made it from a golf caddy 12volt batt an a harness for a diving bottle an a bit of old seat belt. Its the dogs boll**ks not bad eh

Not as heavy as my car battery was an because of the harness its really really snug once your out you can almost forget its on your back an another thing it fits that tight i can run like fu** an jump dykes if i need to without it battering my back to a pulp

I use a piece of polystirene (spelling????) and a small piece of glass, rub em together and makes a cracking fox caller. Worked for me any way.

Does the call sound like the shop ones? If so I suggest you patent it and get yourself a stall at the Game fair!

 

never heard the shop bought ones and guys i no shoot fox use simmilar 2 lol they work what sound do you get out of a shop one ?

yea i cant use me throat lol have a problem with whistling 2 lol but some guys i no can do it with hand and mouth. bit of wood does me handy to carry and at the price you cannot go wrong really.noticed some people have to argue over the fact they did it first tho.its about right for this site makes me laugh lol. instead of helping folk, happier bringing folk down.if they did it many years ago.it would be better to pass on the knowlege instead of pulling people down well thats the reason i joined the site.but noticed it is dog eat dog,prefer to argue than help fellow man strange

I usualy use the wee squeeker out of them squeeky dog toys, works for me.
