Calzaghe on points,Hopkins age is irrelevant as he is in fantastic shape even for a man of 43.Hopkins is also very very clever, and very dirty and will try everything to unsettle Joe.I agree with the comments about Joe being in a no win situation,if he lose's the yanks will say "i told you so" and if he wins it'll be "Hopkins was past his best".I'd love to see Joe KO Hopkins but i can't see it happening. It'll be interesting to see if the occasion and the venue get to Calzaghe, and whether Cortez will let Hopkins get away with his dirty tricks as he never let Hatton lay a glove on Mayweather?

Edited to add,Tomo if your quick you might catch it on "youtube" before they remove it for copyright infringement. Most fights last about 18 hours before they are removed.HTH's

Hopkins, he talks a good fight - but that's all it is, talk.

Hopkins is a great boxer and you have to respect him for still being at the top of his game at 43

Tinman

Is that not slightly contradictory?

Like most others i think it will be a rough fight & go to the scorecards. At the moment i would like to see Calzaghe win but if Hopkins price keeps drifting beyond the 5/2 mark or Calzaghe's shortens i might just have to change my allegiance.

I think calzaghe has the style and stamina to take a points win.....BUT ...my moneys on hopkins to take a slim and maybe very controversial points win.....you can bet your boxxxxks if its close hopkins will get the nod and personally i cant see either knocking each other out....

I think its only fair that calzaghe gets no great credit even if he totally overwhelms hopkins....he should have taken the plunge and took this fight 7 years ago.....but as is the way with our top fighters these days they wait till the best are on the slide and then try to claim a great victory....

Good luck to joe boy, hopefully he will win convincingly.....but im going for hopkins.

If calzaghe keeps his head and boxs he will win. Calzaghe has the ability to out box hopkins ,it`s wether his heart over rules his head. Hopkins will try all the tricks in the book to his advantage . Hopkins looks fit and well conditioned , but i think we might just see a different joe calzaghe , a calzaghe that has a point to prove to himself.. Regards FV :victory:

Totally agree. That's one one of Calzaghe's weaknesses. It his opponent starts any dirty/rough stuff, Calzaghe does it back. I remember seeing one of his fights, (I think it was Zab Judah?) and Joe let himself get dragged down into all sorts off rough stuff. He struggled then, but if he keeps his head a bit, like he did against Jeff Lacy, then I don't think there's another boxer at his weight, that comes near him .

It will be close for 5rds but then Joe's workrate & stamina will show & I think he'll take a wide UD.........Hopkins is wiley & dirty on the inside but Joe knows his craft & will keep out of that noncence , He's learned his trade & to keep away from danger like he did in the Kessler fight after trading for a bit............That Cortez as a ref will benifit Joe I think

yes Calzaghe got involved in a bit of Rough House tactics when he fought Kabary Salem, Maltenby :boxing: A few INTENTIONAL CLASHES OF HEADS :whistling:

Think Calzaghe will OUT-BOX Hopkins  to much speed and workrate should wear down Hopkins.........just got to be carefull of the right hand of Hopkins as Calzaghe as admitted himself he sometimes is open to a right hand :boxing:
