ghostlyease 17
7th June, can you make it??? You may be thinking im sure this date was May, well it was, but we have been asked to participate at a large event the same weekend, its a chance to promote what we do to a huge audience, an opportunity we couldnt ignore, a positive step forward promoting athletic canines. The decision to postpone the next ACES day wasnt taken lightly and we would be extremely pleased to see you at the event at the Kent hop farm that we will be running, I shall post details of that soon. This is a Ch event I believe but I cant cheque as our board has been down now for 2 days! so an opportunity to gain points towards an ACES Ch, will update this if im wrong, lol. All the usual fun stuff going on at the Haywards Heath Location in West Sussex. 100 meter runs Long jump A frame I will update if the High wall is to come Off the top of my head the most common questions are... Q: Its all Staffords, can any dog attend? A: Yes any breed is welcome, its mostly Staffords because the society grew from a group of friends that owned mostly bullbreeds. We would really like to see different breeds at the events so if you have a different breed of dog, please feel free to come along! Q: How much will it cost me? A: Cost is £5 for the whole day, all activities. Q: How long will I be there? A: Plan to be there all day, if we finish early we can do a bit more on the lure, some group races ect. Q: Where is it? A: ACES is based at Haywards Heath, about 20 mins South of the M25 Q: Can I bring my own food and drink? A: Yes of course you can, we do provide a rent a cup system, £1 a day and you top up with any drink when ya like, we also sell food at extremely cheap prices, Chilli and Stew £1 a bowl and in the summer BBQ food (spiced chicken pieces, pre cooked before being BBQ so we dont poison anybody, burgers and sausages) £3.00 as much as you can eat, lol... Prices may vary in time of course but as long as we cover cost thats all we want. Q: What do I need to bring? A: A crate is a great idea to put your dog away into while other dogs are running, we have a large enclosed holding area for dogs that do not have crates. Your dogs collar should be well fitted, slipped dogs are not good, a spare lead is also helpful. I missed the last ACES day so im very about this one!!! If I gave anybody a runny tummy I would feel terrible, its only what id do indoors anyway, chicken takes forever on the BBQ otherwise! Thanks for the comment
ghostlyease 17
Just an update on this day, we are slightly changing the running on the day. Run 1 and 2 will still be 100 meters, Ch points awarded over this distance to dogs that place 1st, 2nd, 3rd. Run 3 and 4 will be either a 2 bend course or a longer straight run, more likely be a 2 bend course, can get a much longer run in this way. We have a small bike now that can run the lure back, man power, or should I say girl power as its norm my job to take the lure back, was too slow to consider longer distances. Edited to add that the high wall should be there
ghostlyease 17
The high wall wont be there and the 2rd and 4th runs will prob be 150 straight, but we will decide for def in the morning when laying out the course.
