Dear Friends,

Can we have a rabbit snare that keeps the rabbit alive? I noted the loop snare or knot snare kills the rabbit. Can we have something more humane like a net for example. I hope to hear from you.

were abouts are you from farisaden? id rather the snare killed the rabbit myself, i think this is the more humane way. less stress on the animal being held till you check them in the morning then.

But if you catch a rabbit in a net and dont extract it quickly it will bite threw the net and escape and thats a lot of use in pest control .When a properly set snare will break the rabbits neck or be checked frequently and the rabbits removed and humanly dispatched as a full snare catches nought

We all try to work as humanely as possible. We use nets when necessary, or employ methods, "all legal" as circumstances dictate. Pest control is the game, not animal torture. There are loads of good guys on here. We try our best, take care ian.

Have to agree with all of the above. An animal kept alive overnight in a snare will cut itself to pieces throwing itself around. Unbelievably stressfull on the animal too. Also think if a badger/fox comes across a trapped meal, or is lured by the squealing?

A quick death is required in all cases.

the breakaway rabbit snare i devised is the most humane rabbit snare used today , it totally eliminates woodland deer being accidentally caught by the feet , it will allow animals heavier than a rabbit to escape , from a wandering cat upwards , it also eliminates any trauma around the rabbits head as the spun in permananent stop , prevents full closure of the loop , and the rabbits sit and graze quite freely , also rabbit snares don,t cut rabbits to pieces, this is total nonsense , and i should know i,ve snared tens of thousands over the years ,rabbits cause untold damage to motorway, and road bankings which can subside , burrow into sea walls , under buildings , destroy hundreds of thousands of young trees , undermining graves in cemeteries , etc. but its always the same story , those with plenty to say always have nothing to pay.

I think you find mate that a snare does not break the rabbits neck  .
