Tinman 0
Hi Tyke Lets just say I need someone to clear my garden of moles. I go to Google and do a search, I type in "mole trapper Stafford", or "mole catcher Lichfield". How will this take me to your Directory? Also I have typed in "Moles uk" and guess what? I can't find your Directory anywhere. So why would anyone be expected to pay for a service that know one will find? I apologise if it sounds like I am knocking your Post but £55 or £5 to be listed in a Directory that was only created 10 days ago that doesn't register on the 1st page of Google is staggering. For a £5 to £55 Directory service my minimum requirements would be: Daily Content added to the Directory (Minimum 500 words) Press release (Twice a month) Adwords campaign (Constant) Bloggers Blogging on a daily basis. Link building. Tinman Quote Link to post
Tyke 0
Personally an organisation such as this would be no use to me at all. Most advertising directories work on the assumption that people are always looking for work (naturally). I am in the fortunate position where i can pick and choose my mole jobs and i turn down as much work as i accept. Where i can i pass on the unwanted work to local "pesties"who benefit from my good fortune. For people not so inundated with work as me, they (COULD) benefit if the volume of work was forthcoming, but mole work hot-spots are few and far between so it would still be a gamble....but Hey.....for a fiver what have you got to loose? Rolfe. Inundated too, it would be nice to pass on work to fellow members, and it could help the individual to join forces with another to take on larger contracts. As I stated in one post its not a work guarenteed directory, so I not going to make empty promises. Rolfe is correct its a gamble. We feel how ever the customer would know the member is insured and competant. We are still talking to the insurance company about a blanket policy for Moles UK members, to be honest I think the best we will get is a discounted price, they offered £20 M&S vouchers for each member????? Well took enough of this good forums space up, thanks all concerned. Quote Link to post

My own site appears at the top of this forum in the google ads, among many gardening forums as does Moles UK, I would not expect someone to type in Moles UK to find me? In the real world all the above you mention takes money and time, we not here for a quick buck but long term, I use to do web design as a living I know how things work. What does £5 get you advertising wise in the real world? I not twisting your arm. That's it seriously last post, admin@molesuk.co.uk Quote Link to post
Tyke 0
I don't know who you are but a MASSIVE THANK YOU The Moles UK has been sold, cause someone on here had the foresight to see beyond the advertising, marketing and see the power of the postal code database. They informed someone ( a PCO company ) who has bought us out, a offer we could not refuse. So that's it, they don't want members they have thier own operatives, thanks to all. Quote Link to post
Matt 160
This sounds more dodgy by the minute. Tyke you have had more last posts than an army bugle. So lets get this right, you launch this site one day, and between 1841 and 1929 on a sunday, you sell the site! Tell me, who do you draw up contracts, and go through the due diligence process in less than one hour on a sunday? Or has this just been some sort of wind up? Is it just me? Quote Link to post
stubby 175
how many people from here have been duped of £55, as no members are now wanted, will they get their money back Quote Link to post
BRY 79
Oh dear Glad i NEVER sent off ANY Quote Link to post

Why would a pest control Co want a load of mole trappers contact details supposing you had a decent database To be straight the only way I believe this would of worked is to build a free register then once you start getting hits....maybe after the first year, then you may of been able to charge something, Quote Link to post
Rolfe 2
Oh dear Glad i NEVER sent off ANY I think and hope not many people parted with their money........if something looks too good to be true.........it usually is! Quote Link to post
Tyke 0
Oh dear Glad i NEVER sent off ANY I think and hope not many people parted with their money........if something looks too good to be true.........it usually is! Oh dear, I would never rip anyone off, the deal is subject to the cheque arriving and clearing. Contracts don't take for ever to do. It was a genuine effort at creating a directory, no cheques have been cashed all to be returned. Members on here will justify this, I don't need the money as a member of the FSB I have to be fully accountable. All my details were there for all to see, I understand where your coming from, but I ain't a rip off merchant. The database attracted a lot of attention from business people, it nothing to do with trappers details who would want them? its the power of the database that was important, this offer was just too good. Time will prove no one got ripped off, don't judge so hastily. I can sleep at night. Thanks Quote Link to post
Matt 160
I'm even more confused now. I have some questions, which you may or may not choose to answer: Did you sell a database of molecatchers? Is it the domain name you have sold? Why would a national pest control company want it? If negotiations only started today (sunday), have you taken any advice about the legalities of selling contact information obtained from members? If negotiations started prior to today, why were you actively seeking more members? What was your aim when you started this 'service'? Did you always intend selling out, given your comments about not needing any more work yourself. How quickly can people who sent you money expect a full refund? It just doesn't add up. john b 38
OK - lets keep this under control eh ? It doesn't matter whether this is a genuine business venture that has got lucky early or a climb down from a badly though through idea. Can we put a hold on the unsubstantiated accusations. If anyone has paid and had their cheque cashed and feel that they are not getting a response from Tyke then feel free to have a go. Quote Link to post

Bring your solicitor to meet mine and lets discuss your unfounded allegations, anyone feel free to report this matter to the police. I was genuinely offering a service, no details have been sold on. IT was the database that they wanted, the domain is my property to do with as I wish. question 3 see first answer. question 4 no details have been sold on, I am fully converse with the data protection act. Interest was prior but was not selling so was still seeking members. I don't need to work, I do it cause I like work, a lot of business men do the same, no law against it. The people cheques are in the post tomorrow, any that come tomorrow will be in return post. I get legal advice 24/7 from the FSB I would recommend that all who are serious about business join them. I'll just add that it suprised me just how many were catching moles with out public liability or paying taxes on thier extra income, I helped them and advised best I could. Public liabilty you don't need by law, but its a fool that is waiting for a claim to happen. So you'll not be seeing me on crime watch or visiting me in jail, genuine offer of a directory, the business world as I know works and moves 24/7 and quickly. Critisim springs quicker to the lips then praise which is sadly lacking in todays world. Quote Link to post
Matt 160
For the record, I have made no allegations, I've just asked some questions because I couldn't understand what had happened. If you've come up with a good idea, and sold it, then good luck to you. I just find it strange that you come on here on a Wednesday asking people to join for £55, by Sunday, its dropped to £10, and less than an hour after posting how good it all is, you've sold!! The FSB must be bloody good to arrange your sale that quickly. All credit to them. As I say, if you've made a quid or two from a good idea, well done. Monies are going to be refunded, so no-one looses out. I'm off to join the FSB.............................. Quote Link to post
Tyke 0
Matt If you want to pm me your contact details I'll be happy to talk to you. I understand the reasons for your questions, can I ask if anyone on here has posted they been ripped off? I don't think they will be such posts. Its sad when the world has got so shitty that all genuine offers are treated with suspicion. Quote Link to post
