SPAR 2
checked bird over today and found a growth like lump on her wing looks an oldish wound no redness not infected but it looks bigger than it is. I thought it might be a thorn wound or something (3mm wide) no way she has been shot either still flys ok. Quote Link to post
SPAR 2
I did think that Chris but I cant see how, not damp in the mews, never put away wet, plastic up the front of the mews free-lofted and yes there was a heater it there as well Quote Link to post

SPAR 2
06 bird plastic top to bottom with about 4" from top on the front out of wind. No droopy wing etc fine in herself flies ok. Will by-pass to the vets this week anyway. Quote Link to post
jasper65 6
Could well be Wingtip odeoma/Bursitus. some when Bowed in open pens in the frost will also suffer with frost bite of the wings, I would still use some Iodine and perhaps some broad spectrums Antibiotics like Antirobe or Marbocyl if you can get some.... In the past when I wanted the Iodine to stick I would mix it 50/50 with some Vaseline wiping it up until its black and pack it round the wound, you'll find it sticks alot longer around the wound area this way.... Hopefully its none of the above and just a small injury but It doesn't look good.... Jasper Quote Link to post

SPAR 2
Cheers mate better safe (ish) than sorry Just wondered how quick it takes to spread, worst in cold weather or spead quicker in warm weather. Quote Link to post
gsi2000stokie 5
that will be it now SPAR it shouldn't spread, mine got a secondary infection which i never knew was coming, the drugs nowadays are a lot better than then too. think in them days everything was treated with synulox and it either fixed or killed. chris. chaos is right mate this new kestrel i got had it and the meds are cracking. the guy i had her off a few months back said it was her moult but a close inspection of her wings showed the exact same as the pics there. i got all heating running through my mews to prevent it and it works fine. keeps all 4 mews 4degrees above freezing. hope shes okay for ye matey.
