Hi Your Harris should be in aviary throu the moult. causing her stress will give her stress marks in her feathers. and from what you have written it sounds that she is stressed. craggrat Quote Link to post

Hi Your Harris should be in aviary throu the moult. causing her stress will give her stress marks in her feathers. and from what you have written it sounds that she is stressed. craggrat quite right, what on earth are you doing feeding your bird on the fist when she is in the moult should be left alone to gain good feather condition and bring her weight down when finished moulting without her seeing you feed her untill the time comes to reclaim her then only fed on the fist, you will notice a big difference in her mentall behaviour as she will start to see you as a provider rather than a sibbling or rival. hope this helps you Quote Link to post

blue2 0 Posted October 5, 2008 Report Share Posted October 5, 2008 Iknow lots of people who keep up contact with there birds during the moult. Some birds can be difficult when pulled from the moult to re train, my old female hh was a proper so and so for years untill i decided to feed her from the fist through the moult it made life so much easier when i reclaimed her. Of course id get a similar reaction from my female as you did with your bird. With my male hh i just leave him through the moult, he's a very easy going chap and easy to handle when cought up, even when fat. Quote Link to post
