Guest TREVW32
Can I have some advice please ? Just about to order a AirArms 410, .22 air rifle. It will be used on the range at targets and in the field for rabbits, crows, woodies etc. But I am totally confused and having doubts whether I should get a .177 instead. Had lots of advice from friends suggesting .22 and .177, but thought I'd the vast experience on the forum. Sorry to be such a bore, I've read loads of books and mags again giving arguments for both. Guest baldie
Regardless of whether you are going to use it on live quarry, you say you are going to shoot targets and use it on the range, hunting field target perhaps? it must be a .177 then, no iffs, no butts. Quote Link to post
king 11,980
id say a 177 i shoot a 22 but what ive read and heard a 177 sounds a better bet Quote Link to post
Guest TREVW32
Cheers, it seems .177 has some fans. Would you all suggest that due to the flatter trajectory it's more accurate over the longer distance or just the same as .22 with equal accurancy over the same distances. Quote Link to post
Jordan 1
.177 will piss all over .22 at longer ranges Quote Link to post
TommyL 0
Are there any benefits then for a.22? Quote Link to post
Jordan 1
thye do pack a big punch at shorter ranges but from 25yards and out .177 is king Quote Link to post
bedlingtonman 44
thye do pack a big punch at shorter ranges but from 25yards and out .177 is king <{POST_SNAPBACK}> i found a 1.77 over a distance does not have the kill power on crows and woddies unless its a head shot you hit them in the body they just fly but with a 2.2 they dont fly up just flat then fall imo....thanks Quote Link to post
Guest TREVW32
Cheers to everyone. Theres only one thing for it, I'll have to get to get one of each. Good arguments for both. Now I know why this subject causes so much discussion and has been ongoing for so long. Happy New Year to All Quote Link to post
