ivanh 4
does anyone else run anything out of dave platts deerhounds.if so your opinons on them. Quote Link to post
mistwalker 0
This bitch is out of Dave's stuff. Her Grandsire is his coursing deerhound Odin and he covered an Irish coursing greyhound Cavan Lady. Her mother was covered by a greyhound, so she's 3/4 greyhound 1/4 deerhound. Like most of her cross, she was a bit slow to start off, but once she did there was no looking back. Not quite got the dexterity for loads of rabbits although she lifts a few but spot on for everything else. Can't really fault her - for what I want her for - so I've spoken to Dave and booked a pup of the same cross for next year. Deer pix were taken pre-ban. Quote Link to post
threbb 0
does anyone else run anything out of dave platts deerhounds.if so your opinons on them. If you go there you will get the bullshit and stories and the sales talk and thats all it is. Ask yourself why someone with a genuine good working strain as permanent adverts for pups in earthdog and c/w. I can tell you why.Because the most important thing to them is profit. I dont mean by that there stock is not cared for or that pups arnt in good condition because they are but thats not what you are buying into is it. surely you would want to buy from tested parients not ones that spend most of there life in kennel or in pup. IM AFRAID i SPEAK FROM BITTER EXPERIENCE. They are not the only one either. There is another in Bromsgrove and northampton. They all have there catch frases just like all the best salesmen. "GENUINE OLD FASHIONED" "GENUINE BREEDER" GOOD FOR FAMILY LIFE" bla bla bla. Its all bullshit. Dont fall for it. Dont be lazy or in a rush to find a pup from hard tested parients who preferably come from same and you wont regret it. Quote Link to post

damashaman 1
Dave Platts bless him! Thouroughly nice fella, and a real old character, that is the truth "travelling man" wanna be, but he does move in some interesting circles and knows some real "boys" If his dogs are as good as his bare knuckle boxers keep clear of them. Thouroughly entertaining though, look at the "Leicester Bulldog" fight on the rally scene vid!! Quote Link to post
